On one of the first really nice days of spring, I decided to walk to my yoga class. Heck, it’s not even a mile to the studio. I thought it would be a great way to change things up.As I meandered through a parking lot, I just happened to look down and saw a dollar bill wadded up by a curb. “Oh! A dollar.” I picked it up, thinking it was my lucky day.

As I walked, I thought, hmmm. I should give this away.

Why? I found it! I should save this?!?! You might say.

We live in an abundant world. There is money literally on the ground. I know. I found it. So, do I need to hoard this dollar? Nope. There will be lots more where that came from. Maybe not on the ground, but in many different places.

“Give as much as you can as often as you can, receive with gratitude and joy, think of money as your pal, raise your frequency and get in the flow, yo.”

― Jen Sincero, You Are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth(Quote Jen Sincero)

At first, I looked around for a homeless person. There usually is one on the street, but not today.

I saw an elder couple enjoying ice cream and walked over to ask them if they would like the dollar. The gentleman looked me over and said, “No,” you can have it.” I smiled and said, “I want to give it away.” He snickered and looked away. Huh, that was unexpected.

I wandered along. “I could keep it,” I thought. But I feel compelled to give this away. Soon I noticed a truck with a big dog. I walked over and saw a kid on his phone. “Excuse me. I found this dollar. do you want it?” Pause. Stare. “Sure.” As I walked away, I heard him say, “have a nice evening.” You too, dude!

I like money. I want more of it. So why did I give it away? Because I felt compelled to. My inner voice said, give this to someone else. I have yet to be disappointed when I hear a clear directional pull to do something. It feels like you are playing with life when you do what you feel like doing. Why not give this away? I don’t need it.

I went about my walk and got my zen on during yoga. And then headed home. Dang it! There is the guy! Shopping cart, sleeping bags, a cardboard…
